Nice to meet you! I'm Kathy Zhang, a visual designer specializing in UI/UX and Web Design. I studied art history at Barnard College and worked for many years in the arts — as an art critic, gallery assistant and graphic designer. I worked in the restaurant industry for even more years, to which I attribute the majority of my UX design skills. Currently, I work as a pet sitter and dog daycare attendant while continuing my design education online.

I designed and developed a website for the launch of BorderPlex, an exhibition and visual storytelling e-zine organized by artist-curator Pico del Hierro-Villa.
KAUS is a conceptual student project for DesignLab UX Academy. A national insurance company, transitioning to direct-to-customer sales, requires a brand revamp along with a digital business platform. After conducting market and user research, I developed a brand strategy, designed icons, product cards and a responsive logo, wireframed and prototyped the website, then revised the design after additional usability testing.
