Nice to meet you! I'm Kathy Zhang, a visual designer specializing in UI / UX and Web Design. I studied art history at Barnard College and worked for many years in the arts — as an art critic, gallery assistant and graphic designer. I worked in the restaurant industry for even more years, to which I attribute the majority of my UX design skills. Currently, I am a student at DesignLab UX Academy where I am deepening my knowledge in all things user experience.

Branding, Logo Design, User Research, Web Design
KAUS is a conceptual student project for DesignLab UX Academy. A national insurance company, transitioning to direct-to-customer sales, requires a brand revamp along with a digital business platform. After conducting market and user research, I developed a brand strategy, designed icons, product cards and a responsive logo, wireframed and prototyped the website, then revised the design after additional usability testing.
Technical: Figma, Adobe Creative Suite
Design: User Research, Competitor Research, Persona Building, Empathy Map, Task Flow, User Flow, Usability Testing, Wireframing, Prototyping, Responsive Design, Visual Hierarchy

I'm an avid rock climber and animal lover. I work as a pet sitter and dog daycare attendant, and volunteer at my local animal shelter, while continuing my design education online.
